To schedule your first session, please reach out via email. Your initial message can be brief, there’s no need to share detailed or sensitive health information at this stage. You're welcome to provide more personal or health-related details during our session if you feel comfortable doing so.
During initial contact, I may ask you a few brief questions to make sure we're a good fit:
I do not treat individuals with anorexia, those who are court-ordered into treatment, or those with severe and persistent mental illness (defined here as psychiatric symptoms severe enough to qualify for disability). This is due to the nature of my treatment approach, practice structure, and solo-provider setting. I am able to work with individuals who have substance use concerns, though it is not an area in which I hold extensive experience. Please feel free to ask if you’re unsure whether my practice is suitable for your situation.
Let me know if you have any questions so far or if anything needs clarification.
At this time, I have openings Monday through Sunday between 9:00am and 1:00pm Pacific Time.
The intake process usually takes 60 minutes. This comprehensive assessment helps us understand your current challenges and the biological, psychological, and social factors involved.
From there, we’ll collaborate on treatment goals and build a personalized plan that may include medications, behavioral tools, therapy, and/or referrals to other providers.
After the evaluation is complete, follow-up sessions can be scheduled for either 30 or 50 minutes depending on your needs. Frequency ranges from weekly to annually.
If you're prescribed stimulant medication, we’ll need to meet at least every three months. I'll provide recommendations for ongoing appointments after our evaluation is complete.
Please review the Services Agreement and Privacy Practices documents located under the “Policies” section at the top and bottom of this website. You’ll need to sign a “Signature Sheet” confirming that you’ve read and agree to these documents before we begin. I can send that form to you via email.
Please also send a copy of your driver’s license and insurance card (if using insurance) prior to your first session, photos can be uploaded through Tebra. If your address is different than what’s on your ID, let me know so I can update your record.
By your second session, I ask that you or your healthcare provider send over any recent lab results. If you've seen other providers whose care is relevant to your mental health, I may ask you to complete a Release of Information (ROI) form so I can review those records as part of your assessment. I’ll send that form to you if needed.
During the initial evaluation process, I may ask you to collect some basic vitals such as weight, blood pressure, and pulse, especially if you're starting medications. I recommend having a home scale and an automatic blood pressure cuff if possible. Let me know if this feels uncomfortable or if you need help with it. Whether or not we collect vitals will depend on your specific diagnosis, history, and treatment plan.
To help monitor your progress, I may ask you to complete brief screening tools related to mood, anxiety, or focus. These can be done before or during our sessions, and they help guide our treatment direction. Links to some of these screeners are provided below.
